Why Biosolution Academy?
The global market, and particularly the European market, is seeing steady growth in the use of biocontrol solutions for plant protection.
The preference of consumers for certified organic food products, the market generated for producers, processors, and distributors, and the reduction in permitted pesticides in agriculture are factors that are strongly accelerating this trend. In addition, the “From Farm to Fork” and “Biodiversity 2030” strategies aim to triple the area under organic cultivation and reduce pesticide use by 50% by 2030. The primary sector, in all its supply chain components, has had to adapt quickly to this change. The difficulties this entails for all stakeholders involved are manifold.
Through the Biosolution Academy, the Università Cattolica, with its Faculty of Agriculture, food and environmental sciences, provides the best expertise from university research and partnerships with the professional world to develop the knowledge and skills needed to address and guide change.
